Ian Nelson

Chairman

The Stoke D'Abernon Residents Committee (SDRA) is made up of myself, our Secretary (Glenys Layzell), our Treasurer (Richard Kirchner) and over 10 road representatives.

We meet every couple of months in the Village Hall on Station Road and do what we can to make Stoke D'Abernon a better village for everyone that lives, works and visits here. We hope that you will find our website helpful.

If you are unsure of who your road representative is please ask a neighbour or use our Contact Us facility below.

I look forward to speaking with you soon.

Working For You

Planning

Monitoring planning applications and making representations where appropriate.

Safety

Trying to make Stoke D'Abernon a safe and pleasant village in which to live by liaising with the local and county councils, the local police and neighbouring residents groups.

Environment

Taking steps to improve the environment and the community by planting trees and bulbs, organising occasional social events, and introducing local initiatives.

Information

Providing information principally by means of meetings, seasonal newsletters and the website.

The Association was founded nearly seventy years ago in 1946 to serve the village of Stoke D'Abernon and its immediate neighbourhood - a community of over 500 households.

The popular residents' association which produces two newsletters each year, maintains a website, plants trees and bulbs, and organises a popular Christmas Lights event. There is a well-used village hall, thriving local church, successful cricket club, a selection of useful small shops, nursery school, pub and busy railway station with buses to Cobham.
