The Surrey village of Stoke D'Abernon, some 18 miles from London, is conveniently situated near to the towns of Cobham, Leatherhead, Epsom and the county town of Guildford, whilst London is just a 40 minute journey by semi-fast train from the local railway station.
Stoke D'Abernon has a decidedly village atmosphere with an active Residents' Association, a public house, a small parade of shops with Post Office, village hall, nursery, school, cricket club and Surrey's oldest church, St Mary's.
Walks can be had nearby and not far away is the country house of Polesden Lacey, it is owned by the National Trust and has both cultivated gardens and acres of open space for more extensive excursions. We are also close to Painshill Landscape Gardens, Oxshott Heath, Bookham Common (National Trust) and walks across the fields to the picturesque village of Downside.
