Coronavirus – a note from our chairman

Updated:

Coronavirus – a note from our chairman, Ian Nelson.

The aim of our residents’ association is to make Stoke D’Abernon a better place in which to live. We hope this will apply especially when times are difficult and uncertain.

Our first aim must be to try to remember our elderly and vulnerable residents who may be worried about the situation. People may become lonely and concerned about doing their shopping or keeping appointments.

A number of our road groups have shown initiative and kindness by inviting their residents to keep an eye on those who might be on their own or in need. Our local church, St Mary’s, has invited people to volunteer to help those who might welcome assistance – you can phone or contact the parish office by checking their website. Tel 01932 866005 weekday mornings. For those wishing for a bit of quiet contemplation in this charming 1,300-year-old building, the church is opening every morning 9.30-11.30.  https://www.stmarysstokedabernon.org.uk

Alternatively, you can contact our residents’ association using the contact email facility on this website.

We must also be mindful that there are some unscrupulous people who may use the situation to take advantage of the vulnerable and unwary.

I would encourage you to use our excellent local shops and businesses. These include:

We are fortunate to live in such a well-served community, and with access to open countryside.

Thank you to all of you who are offering to help during these unusual times.
