Following the superb response to last year’s consultation we have learnt that the Draft Local Plan publication has likely been delayed to September 2020.

There were over 6500 responses to the consultation back in September with 2100 coming from Cobham, Stoke d’Abernon, Oxshott and Downside. So a huge thank you to all of you who responded.

85% of the responses received by the Council were in favour of Option 4 , our preferred option, which shows the strength of feeling against building on Green Belt.  We know here in Stoke d’Abernon we would be very negatively affected so it was excellent to get such a strong response.

In the meantime, the Council is now consulting on some strategic policies.  The latest consultation wants to hear from residents about their views on the Vision and Strategic Themes for Elmbridge in the next 15 years.  The link to the Consultation is https://consult.elmbridge.gov.uk/consult.ti/visobjdir/consultationHome.

This is your last chance to tell the Council that we don’t want any building on the Green Belt prior to the Draft Local Plan being issued.  There are 9 questions – so it would be useful to emphasise in each response “no building on Green Belt”.
