Knowle Hill Park and Polyapes Footpath

A notice from Cobham Heritage Trust re Footpath Improvement Works near Knowle Hill Park and Polyapes

We were delighted that we were once again successful in applying for and being awarded more CIL (Community Infrastructure Levy) monies to improve footpaths in our local area.

Over the last few years, thanks to CIL awards, we have improved and re-surfaced a number of footpaths in our local area that were in much need of work and attention.

This year Elmbridge CIL is funding 80% of the work and Cobham Heritage Trust is funding the remaining 20%. We are very grateful to both Elmbridge BC in awarding the CIL grants, and to the Countryside team in Surrey CC, who project manage and undertake the work on our behalf.

A further section of the footpath that runs parallel to Lodge Close and Knowle Hill, will be re-surfaced week commencing 7th October.

This path was resurfaced back in 2018 and has greatly benefited local residents. The field at the top, backing onto Polyapes Scout Camp was fenced in by the landowner just over a year ago resulting in all the footfall having to traverse a narrow stretch of path which becomes extremely muddy in the winter.

The work will take approximately a week and this section of the path will be closed whilst the work is undertaken.
